It was a Great time

Ok I know that I have been back for a couple of days and I haven't blogged. But in my defense I have been trying to catch up with my sleep. Trying to get my body back on Indiana time.

Mike and I left for California on June 14th. It was my first time flying and I was VERY nervous, but honestly I shouldn't have been. It was fine I actually kinda liked it ( Yes April I am admitting that). We got in at 7:30 p.m. Pacific time. We didnt do much the first couple of days because everyone was tired. Mike did get a chance to see some of his family that he hadn't seen in years and I got the chance to meet them. I found out that I have a lot in common with Janet. We had a great time talking about all that we had in common.

On Wednesday the 18th we went to Marine world ( or that is what mike and his dad kept calling it, it is actually Six Flags Discovery Kingdom) We saw all the animal show that we could. They were all pretty amazing. They have the only 2 diving tigers in the world. And yes I said diving tigers. None of us were much into the rides but Mike and his dad did decided to go on one water ride at the end of the day just before we left. ( It was a pretty hot day.) They went on a ride called monsoon falls and thought if they sat in the back that they would not get as wet. Yeah Right. They were soaked and I thought that it was hilarious.

On Thurday the 19th Chuck said that we were going to go to the beach because I had never been there before (thank you chuck). All I can say is that the ocean is beautiful. It was kinda chilly there that day so I was glad that I had brought a long sleeve shirt. After we left the beach we made a side trip to San Fransisco to see the Golden Gate Bridge and The Bay Bridge. We were going to go to Fishermans Wharf but we got stuck in traffic and knew that it was going to be even worse down by the wharf. We finally made it across the bay bridge and I got to see Alcatraz out of the window. It was pretty cool.

On Friday the 20th Chuck had to go check on his crew up in Tahoe so he asked if mike and i wanted to ride along so of course we said yes. It was a beautiful drive. We saw a lot of mountains that still had snow on them. There were a couple of springs that ran along the road but I didn't get any pictures because by the time you saw them you were already past them. Lake Tahoe was beautiful. I know I keep saying that but it is the only word that I can think of to describe it. We also went into Nevada and had lunch at the Cal-Neva Resort and casino. The dining room overlooked the lake and had an amazing view. We tried our luck at the casino. We didnt have much luck but I did have better luck than Mike ( sorry mike)

We had to leave on Saturday, but let me tell you we didn't want too. It was about 106 degrees there that day so Janet let their dogs in they have three Tippers, Simba, and Sadie. Simba and Sadie are German Shepards and they are BIG dogs. We got a great picture of them jumping all over Chuck. Finally it was time to go to the airport but we all dreaded leaving. It was such a relaxing week. We had so much fun. THANK YOU Chuck and Janet.

We got home at 6:30 sunday morning, We took the red-eye home and that was quite an experiance. Like I said before I am still trying to get back on schedule. I hope everyone had a great week while I was gone.
