Graduation

Sorry that I havent blogged in almost two weeks but in my defense, I really havent been home. Last Sunday and Monday I was at work overnight so when I got home it was really late or on sunday night monday morning I should say early. Considering that I got home just as mike was getting ready to leave for work. He has to be there at 6 am and I got home about 530 am. It was a long night. Then tuesday night I had plans of being home at my normal time but that didnt happen. My sister called to tell me that her friend Sue's water had just broken and she was not in active labor so they needed something to do, so I spent a couple of hours running around gathering stuff and spending time at the hospital with Sherry and Sue.

I did have a normal schedule for wednesday but After I got off of work I had things that needed to be done before I left for Evansville Thursday. Mike got off of work at 10 thursday morning and we left for Evansville and we had just gotten on to highway 25 when I realized that I had forgotten the phone numbers that we needed. So we had to turn around and go back to get them. It was a good thing that we were only 5 minutes from home.

We got to Evansville about 3:30 our time which turns out to be 2:30 Evansville time. We thought that we were going to be late. Granted graduation wasnt until 6 but we all wanted to get a good seat. Well we got there really early and found out they werent seating until 5:15 so we had about an hour to wait so you all know me, I had something to do. I had knitting in my purse and I finished a dishcloth.

When graduation finally began I was blown away. The student speakers had so much more to say than I thought was possible. I remember at my graduation that the speakers spoke about nothing more than you can do whatever you want blah, blah,blah. These students spoke about how everyone discounted them because of the area they grew up in and how they overcame that. All of the obstacles that they have overcome.

On Friday We spent the day with his stepmom and the day was ok. It went better than I thought. Marley had gone on the senior trip and they went to Holiday world. She had a blast.

On Saturday we went to Vincennes and spent the day with Mikes friend Raphael and his wife.. Since it is Memorial day weekend we were unable to get a room so we drove home last night. But while we were in Vincennes we went to the rendezvous which is an American Revolutionary War reenactment. It was pretty cool. I must say that I really want to go back.
